FACTORY VISIT · NINGBO, CHINA

Inside Xhorse’s factory:
how the CNC takes shape.

Instead of starting with a product demo, I visit the manufacturing operation behind Xhorse3D’s WM-100 desktop simultaneous five-axis CNC machine.

THE QUESTION

What does the company behind a new machine actually make?

In Ningbo, China, I visit Xhorse and Xhorse3D to see the wider manufacturing operation behind the WM-100. Xhorse is already known for automotive key-cutting equipment; the factory gives the desktop CNC story a much broader context.

WHAT I SAW

More than one assembly line.

The tour moves through injection moulding, electronics and SMT production, precision inspection, in-house motor production, key-cutting machines and the desktop CNC assembly line. It also looks at how large CNC machines produce structural parts for smaller machines.

Along the way, the team talks about the challenge of scaling precision and keeping production consistent across the steps from machining and calibration to testing and assembly.

WHY THE VISIT MATTERS

See the people and process behind the spec sheet.

A factory visit can show viewers how an engineering idea connects to production capability, quality checks and the company’s existing experience. This video is a manufacturing tour as well as a look at a desktop five-axis CNC launch.
